The Cliffs
Randle Cliffs are located on the Western shore of the Chesapeake Bay, just about two miles South of Chesapeake Beach in Calvert County, Maryland. The bayside cliffs in Calvert County are considered among the world's richest fossil areas. According to the National Park Service, Captain John Smith probably anchored near Randle Cliffs on June 11, 1608. There is a Bluebird Trail located near Randle Cliffs. Maryland Route 261, Bayside Road, runs north and south just a bit inland of Randle Cliffs. The latitude and longitude for the Randle Cliffs Beach, just North of the cliffs are: 38 degrees 39 minutes 54 seconds North, 76 degrees 31 minutes 51 seconds West. The proper name is Randle Cliff, singular. |
The Area
Calvert Library, Twin Beaches Branch Randle Cliffs Community Church Randle Cliffs is home to the Naval Research Laboratory Chesapeake Beach. The Randle Cliffs area is served by the North Beach Fire Department as well as by the fire department from the Naval Research Laboratory. The Randle Cliffs area is patrolled by the Calvert County Sheriff's Department as well as by the Maryland State Police.
